Common Earwig or European Earwig (Forficula auricularia)

Name: Common Earwig or European Earwig
Size: Up to a half an inch in length
Habitat: They can live in a variety of habitats, and are common within houses.
Prey: Earwigs will eat both plants and animals and can consume things like aphids, spiders, insect eggs, dead plants and insects.
Danger: Earwigs are harmless to people, but are considered an agricultural pest. They can damage fruit orchards and crops. Since they prefer to eat other insects, they can also be used to control other pests in agricultural settings.
